All applicants should currently reside in the Middle Georgia area. These positions are based in Macon, Georgia, and all operations will be run locally. Applications from outside the region may not be considered to avoid confusion regarding relocation or travel.

Grading Crew Operator

As a Grading Crew Operator, you will play a hands-on role in shaping construction sites by operating heavy equipment and supporting grading tasks under the direction of the Foreman. Your work directly supports First Environmental’s mission: to fix our customers’ problems and make them happy.


Requirements

  • Acceptable past work history

  • Acceptable security background record

  • Acceptable driving record (as reviewed by insurance provider)

  • Pass a complete pre-employment physical exam, including DOT physical

  • Pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs. repeatedly

  • Proficient in operating heavy equipment safely and effectively

  • Willingness to assist with physical tasks, including pipe installation

  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, stand, and lift repeatedly

  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team

  • Strong communication skills

  • Self-starter with a positive attitude who leads by example

  • Understanding and application of safety training requirements


Duties / Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment, including:

    • Excavators

    • Front-end loaders

    • Backhoes

    • Dozers

    • Vibratory rollers

  • Assist with grading operations and related sitework

  • Follow the Foreman’s instructions and collaborate with crew members

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment

  • Show up consistently, contribute effort, and help the team meet daily goals
