Customer Manager
Summary
Position: Customer Manager
Department: Sales / Operations
Category of Employment: Full-Time
Payroll Status: Commission-Based + Base (as applicable)
Work Hours: Varies based on business demand; includes travel, site visits, and client meetings
As a Customer Manager, you are responsible for expanding existing business and developing new opportunities through site visits, cold calls, and relationship building. You will market all First Environmental service lines within your assigned territory while acting as the key link between customers and Operations—ensuring projects are executed successfully and customers are satisfied. This role directly supports our mission: to fix our customers’ problems and make them happy.
Requirements
- Strong sales and relationship development skills
- Ability to generate new business through cold calls, site visits, and referrals
- Proven ability to manage and grow accounts
- Organized with strong follow-through and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities and proposals at once
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated, competitive, and results-driven
- Experience in industrial services, construction, or related field preferred
- Acceptable past work history
- Pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
- Acceptable security background record
- Maintain acceptable driving record (as required)
- Ability to understand and follow safety requirements
Duties / Responsibilities
- Expand current business through site visits, cold calls, and relationship development
- Generate new business opportunities through referrals and targeted outreach
- Market all First Environmental service lines within assigned territory
- Identify and pursue new opportunities for growth
- Develop bids and proposals in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Track opportunities and manage the sales pipeline
- Act as liaison between customers and Operations to ensure successful project execution
- Maintain communication with customers to ensure satisfaction and repeat business
Performance is measured by:
- Sales performance vs. budget
- Activity performance vs. goals (face-to-face visits, calls, etc.)
- Opportunities developed and proposals closed
- Sales activity within key target accounts
Compensation
